MEET THE SPEAKERS:

Michael Belote has over 40 years of experience representing clients before the California Legislature and state regulators. He has worked with various organizations such as the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, California Association of Realtors, and the California Land Title Association. His expertise covers issues in financial services, real estate, health care, the judiciary, and transportation. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and the McGeorge School of Law and is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in California.



Don Willenburg is a highly respected appellate lawyer with expertise in product liability, employment law, construction disputes, and environmental defense. He has won appeals and writs in various cases and is known for his contributions to the legal community through lectures, publications, and volunteer work.

 

 

 

 

Emily Goswami is a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) with Roux in Oakland, CA. She has over 20 years of experience in evaluating exposures and health risks for chemicals/agents in the environment, in the workplace, and from consumer products. She has testified as an expert witness in various matters related to asbestos/talc, mold, volatile organic compounds, and PFAS. 

 



Rachel Reynolds is a Partner in Wilson Elser’s Seattle office, and practices throughout Washington, Oregon, and California with a particular focus on products liability and toxic torts.  She is an Army Veteran and began her career as a Deputy District Attorney in Southern California before transitioning to private practice.  Rachel is defending silicosis cases in Washington and Oregon as the docket expands from California. 

 

Brain Daly is an industrial hygienist, safety engineer, and environmental health scientist with degrees in Health Science and Environmental and Occupational Health. He specializes in occupational hygiene, chemical hazard assessment, microbial growth, noise exposure control, and indoor air quality. As President of Hygiene Technologies International, Inc. since 1998, he has managed industrial hygiene, safety engineering, and environmental health projects, offering consulting, safety training, and emergency response coordination. He is often conducting microbial and chemical exposure assessments, develop health and safety programs, and serve as an expert witness. His experience spans a variety of industries, with a focus on hazard identification, control strategies, and regulatory compliance. Brian holds certifications as a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Registered Professional Engineer in Safety, and regularly contributes to industry knowledge through papers and presentations.

Michelle is an experienced trial consultant and former attorney with expertise in litigation strategy, trial presentations, and jury selection. She is skilled at providing constructive feedback to witnesses and refining attorneys' arguments. Michelle has taught lawyers in CLE programs and authored articles on jury selections and public trust in the justice system. She graduated cum laude with a J.D. from UC Law San Francisco and earned her B.A., also cum laude, with a double major in Communication and Italian Studies, from Santa Clara University.

 

 

 

Dr. Levy, a Columbia University and San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute graduate, is a board-certified clinical and forensic psychiatrist licensed in California and Hawaii. An Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF and Adjunct Associate Professor at Stanford, he has been in private practice since 1975 and has served as a forensic expert in over 500 cases. He is the founder and medical director of Forensic Psychiatric Associates Medical Corporation (fpamed.com), specializing in forensic evaluations for civil and criminal cases. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Levy is widely published, regularly lectures on forensic psychiatry, and is a frequent media expert.

 

 

Dr. Howard Friedman received his Ph.D. in psychology from Rutgers University in 1978 and completed postdoctoral training in neuropharmacology, clinical psychology, and neuropsychology. Licensed in multiple states, he has treated over 11,000 patients in his private practice in Walnut Creek and is Board Certified in Neuropsychology. He has held various positions, including Director of Psychological Services at Walnut Creek Hospital, and currently serves as a Designated Psychologist for the U.S. Department of Energy, conducting national security evaluations. Dr. Friedman also performs clinical and forensic evaluations and has qualified as an expert in numerous legal cases. Since 2019, he has been an independent contractor for fpamed.
